今天是曼德拉国际日。2009年11月，联合国第64届联大通过决议，自2010年起，将每年7月18日，即南非前总统纳尔逊·曼德拉的生日定为“曼德拉国际日” ，以表彰他为和平文化与自由做出的贡献。

　　他是谁?

　　纳尔逊・罗利赫拉赫拉・曼德拉(Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela)，1918年7月18日生于南非东开普省一个部落酋长家庭。青年时代，他因反抗种族隔离制度加入非洲人国民大会(ANC)，1964 年在利沃尼亚审判中被判终身监禁，在罗本岛等监狱度过了 27 年铁窗生涯，1990年2月11日获释。

　　出狱后的他选择宽恕而非复仇，推动南非和平转型。1993年获诺贝尔和平奖，1994年当选南非首位黑人总统，1999年卸任后投身慈善与公共事务。2013年12月5日逝世，享年95岁。

　　他留下了什么?

　　曼德拉留给人类的不仅是一个没有种族隔离的新南非，更是一种精神指引：以宽恕代替报复，以对话代替对抗，以和解代替分裂。真正的自由，从来不是一个人的自由，而是所有人的自由。
